On September 3, 2016, I had the opportunity to travel to Pittsburgh, PA to attend the Memorial service for a good friend, Ernie Frederick. I met Ernie in 2006 when I walked across PA from Lancaster County to Pittsburgh. Ernie was a man of God with a heart for Pittsburgh and he proved it by praying from Mt. Washington almost every day for 18 years for the city of Pittsburgh. The Memorial Service was remarkable and a blessing to so many people who attended. The work will continue through his wife, Susan, Pastor Jim Snyder and others.

Early on the morning of September 5, I left for the sixth leg of the East Coast City Prayer Walk. First stop was CBN in Virginia Beach, where I presented a very special shepherd’s staff to CBN, honoring their calling and ministry. I prayed with Dr. Gordon Robertson, Dr. Joel Palser and other key leaders at CBN. I then traveled on to Savannah, GA. John Wesley left his mark on this city through his godly influence, prayer, preaching and by pioneering the first Methodist church in the city. It is certain that this man loved God and believed the world was his parish. I called out to God to raise up preachers, soul winners and godly influencers to walk in Wesley’s footsteps.

Sunday, September 11, I drove to Fayetteville, GA and connected with our good friends, Nate and Rosanne Gehman. I prayer walked Hapeville, a suburb of Atlanta, north to the inner city and witnessed the joy and pain, poverty and prosperity, homelessness and success—all in the same city. I prayed with Otis, a man who showed me his tattoos which told his life story. Some places where I prayed in this influential city were: Georgia State University, the Georgia Dome, Turner Field, where the Atlanta Braves play baseball, and outside banks, businesses, and skyscrapers. As I prayed, I passed homeless and hurting individuals. After praying specifically for the students and professors at Georgia State University, I met a Professor that teaches world history. He is a powerful man of God and we prayed together. I learned that he knew a good doctor friend of mine in Elizabethtown, PA. God’s timing is perfect!

The Georgia staff was released to the Mayor of Fayetteville, Georgia. This man is God’s choice for that city and as my friends, Nate, Michael and I prayed with him, the prophetic anointing was very strong and pure. After a few tears and embraces at his office at City Hall, I drove 12 hours and arrived home exhausted but pleased with the outcome of leg 6 of the East Coast City Prayer Walk.
