MASSACHUSETTS UPDATE
May 4th-15th
Written by Don Lamb

We Left Boston Monday morning and drove to Plymouth. This was a very powerful time. We saw all the places where the early Pilgrims landed and forged the New World at that time. We prayed into the foundations of the early fathers. We were deeply impacted by the National Monument to the Forefathers – a giant statue – entitled FAITH. She stands eighty feet high on a pedestal fashioned out of four key truths of America – Morality, Law, Education, and Liberty. Under “Morality” stands the “Prophet” and “Evangelist”; under “Law” stands “Justice” and “Mercy”; under “Education” are “Youth” and “Wisdom”; and under “Liberty” stands “Tyranny Overthrown” and “Peace”.

Although this monument was designed and made by unsaved secular people, it illustrates powerfully the key elements of the founding of our nation.

We finished up Tuesday morning in Plymouth and drove toward Providence Rhode Island. We arrived in Providence in the afternoon and began praying into the region. Calvin prayer walked into the city while Don found an old Gist mill park and researched Rhode Island. Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island was an interesting character. He helped figure out the separation of Church and State but was very independent.

Wednesday morning we went into Providence early and walked all day. We finished up around 3:00 PM and then prepared for an evening prayer service in the city. Calvin met a dear brother, Eric Levy, who pastors a small flock. He works at Brown University and has a powerful heart for God. Calvin sensed to release to Eric the Staff for Rhode Island (although Calvin would actually release it Thursday morning.) We went back into the city of Providence and met with the Renaissance Church on Broad Street. They were a precious people. We really felt the heart of Pastor Scott was in tune with the desperate need for clarity and a firm Word from God for this generation. They are a very engaging body. We did our best to encourage them and let them know what God is doing across the country.

On Thursday morning we delivered the staff to Eric Levy at Brown University. This part of Providence Rhode Island is much steeped in elitism and the intimidating spirit of academia. Calvin and Eric boldly prayed for the Lord to release what He desires for this city. It was a powerful moment in the middle of that culture to stand outside a coffee shop and boldly pray for God’s Kingdom to overcome the kingdoms of men.

We left for Groton, Connecticut and arrived in the early afternoon. We arrived and got settled in and then drove to Mystic where Calvin prayer walked the whole town in under two hours. We then went back to Groton and Calvin continued prayer walking there. We had a deep spirit of prayer all day for the Lord to increase His work in this region.

The next day we stayed and prayed over New London sensing that this hour is such a critical hour for our whole nation. It was Friday, May 13 and President Obama had issued his executive order to force all public schools to meet the whims of the liberal agenda concerning transgenders. Calvin and I went back into intercession and grieving over the condition of America – but also with hope that what the Lord intends is to continue to spread the fragrance of Christ through His people who are alive and awakened.

Saturday, we were excited to get to New Haven and pray for the City and over Yale University. We arrived at 8:30 AM. We prayer walked together and separately through New Haven and Yale until 12:00 Noon when we caught up with Chinedum and Nketchi Uwaga. They live in New Haven and carry a heart for the nations but are clearly led of the Lord to shine the light in New Haven. Calvin sensed that they should receive the Connecticut Staff.  We had a powerful time of prayer and blessing over the Uwagas.

We Left New Haven and went further south toward Stratford. Calvin walked Stratford and Bridgeport, CT that afternoon and then we wrapped up the prayer walk around 5:30 PM and got ready to travel the next morning back to Pennsylvania.
